Kent Oliven is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Public Funds Investment Manager (CPFIM), and has met the requirements for a Certified Illinois Municipal Treasurer (CIMT). He was the former Palos Park Finance Director before joining Calumet Park. Prior to municipal work, he was an investment bank performance analyst and a former business owner. He has a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts from the University of Iowa. He also has a Certificate of Municipal Leadership from the University of Illinois, an Advanced Accounting Certificate from Northwestern University, an Advanced Government Finance Institute Certificate from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and an Award for Financial Achievement from the Government Finance Officer Association (GFOA). He is a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and the AICPA.
